Shiroyama Park (城山公園), located near the center of Nobeoka's cityscape, is a park developed on the site of Nobeoka Castle, which was built by the Arima clan. Stone walls remain atop the verdant hillside, and from the castle keep ruins you can see the Gokase River (五ヶ瀬川) and Ose River (大瀬川), Nobeoka's cityscape, and distant mountain ranges. The Ose River area, where tonight's fireworks will launch, also comes into view, allowing you to get a sense of the venue's approximate location during daytime. The park features abundant shade, making it a relatively cool and comfortable walking course even during summer heat. Nobeoka Castle is known for its distinctive stone-stacking method called "Senningoroshi" (千人殺し), offering much of interest to history enthusiasts.

まつりのべおか花火大会は、延岡市の夏を代表する祭りのクライマックスを飾る花火大会です。大瀬川大瀬大橋の下流から打ち上がる約10,000発の花火が、川面を照らしながら夜空に大輪の光を広げます。河川敷という広大なロケーションで間近に見上げる花火は迫力満点で、川面に映る光の揺らめきも見どころのひとつです。大瀬橋を背景にした夜景とともに打ち上がる花火は、延岡の夏にしか味わえない特別な景色です。地域の人々と一緒に盛り上がるお祭りの雰囲気も、この花火大会ならではの魅力です。

開催日時は2026年7月19日(日)で時間は未定のため、当日の公式発表を必ず確認してください。荒天時の対応(中止・延期)も公式情報で確認を。終了後は観覧客が一斉に帰路につくため、延岡駅周辺の道路や駐車場は大変混み合います。フィナーレ後は河川敷でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから時間をずらして移動するのがおすすめです。足元が暗い河川敷の帰り道はライトを活用して安全に。

Tips

About 15 minutes' walk from Nobeoka Station (延岡駅), or about 5 minutes by car. Admission is free. Stone steps lead up to the castle keep ruins, so please wear comfortable shoes. Restrooms available in the park. On the festival day, traffic congestion occurs around the area from evening onward, so it's advisable to visit early in the afternoon at a leisurely pace.
