This park is located on the high ground of Tateyama (楯山), adjacent to the fireworks venue on the Mogami River floodplain, and is one of the main viewing areas for the Oe Summer Festival fireworks display. During the day, it serves as a popular observation spot where you can view the broad flow of the Mogami River, the rural landscape of Oe Town, and the surrounding countryside. Confirming the fireworks launch site during the day will help you choose the best viewing spot at night. The park has plenty of greenery, and cool breezes blow through the shaded areas even on a summer afternoon. Walk along the paths and enjoy the Mizugo Oe scenery at a leisurely pace.

水郷大江夏まつり灯ろう流し花火大会は、終戦の日である8月15日に戦没者を偲んで最上川に灯ろうを流す行事と花火大会が合わさった、大江町の夏を代表する祭りです。川面を流れる無数の灯ろうの光は、夜の最上川を静かに、そして美しく彩ります。19時の花火打ち上げが始まると、灯ろうの揺らめきと花火の光が最上川の上で重なり合い、他の花火大会では味わえない独特の幻想的な光景が広がります。山形の里山に囲まれた最上川から打ち上がる花火は、川面に映り込みながら夜空に大きく開き、夏の夜の澄んだ空気の中に鮮やかな光の花を咲かせます。灯ろう流しに込められた祈りの意味を感じながら、家族で静かに花火を見上げる時間は、夏の大切な記憶になるでしょう。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は大江町の公式発表で事前に確認してください。終了後は周辺道路が混雑するため、花火終了後は少し時間をおいてから移動するのがおすすめです。河川敷は照明が少ない場所もあるため、小さなライトを必ず持参してください。帰りの車・公共交通の時刻は事前に確認を。

Within walking distance from Aterazawa Station. On the day of the fireworks display, crowds gather from late afternoon onward, but during the day you can still enjoy a relaxed experience. The ground conditions in the park vary, so wear comfortable walking shoes. The view from the high ground has a different kind of beauty than the fireworks viewing experience after sunset.
