Adjacent to Uesugi Shrine, Yonezawa City Uesugi Museum (米沢市上杉博物館) is a representative museum of Yamagata Prefecture, housing historical materials and art/craft objects associated with the Uesugi family. You can view precious items related to Uesugi Kenshin (上杉謙信), Uesugi Kagekatsu (上杉景勝), and Uesugi Takayama (上杉鷹山) up close, including the National Treasure "Scenes Inside and Outside Kyoto Screen (Uesugi Version)" (洛中洛外図屏風(上杉本)). Many exhibits relate to the festival's "Sengoku" theme, making it an ideal place to deepen your historical understanding before the evening viewing. よねざわ戦国花火大会は、上杉氏の城下町・米沢を舞台に毎年開催される秋の大花火大会です。2026年は10月10日(土)18時30分より米沢市営野球場を会場に開催されます。戦国武将が駆け抜けた米沢の地に響く打ち上げ音は迫力満点で、秋の澄んだ夜空に映える花火の色と光は格別の美しさです。10月の米沢は夜間の気温がぐっと下がるため、防寒をしっかり整えたうえで観覧しましょう。戦国の歴史を昼にたどり、夜は花火で締めくくる、米沢らしいクライマックスです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表をご確認ください。10月の米沢の夜は気温が10度前後まで下がることがあるため、防寒着・手袋・マフラーを必ず持参してください。終了後は周辺道路と米沢駅が混雑するため、時間差での帰路がおすすめです。帰りの電車・バスの時刻は事前に確認しておきましょう。

Adjacent to Matsugasaki Park, so it's just a short walk away. Admission for the permanent exhibition is 410 yen for adults. During special exhibitions, fees may differ, so please check the official website in advance. The museum shop carries merchandise associated with the Uesugi family.
