About this spot
A rest area on the south shore of Lake Kawaguchi, where the lakeside terrace offers an excellent panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi directly in front. Beyond the shop with local produce and Yamanashi specialties, a light food counter features menus using ingredients from Mt. Fuji's foothills. The lakeside terrace is well-ventilated, and even on hot summer days, the cool breeze from the lake feels pleasant. On the fireworks festival day, it's an ideal spot for a final leisurely break before heading to Oike Park for the evening's main event. Well-equipped with restrooms and vending machines, it also serves as a base for final preparations before the night's viewing.

富士山の山開き(7月1日)を祝う花火大会で、河口湖畔・大池公園ほか湖畔エリアを会場に約2,000発が打ち上げられます。湖上から打ち上がる花火は富士山のシルエットを背景に夜空へと広がり、静かな湖面に光の帯を映し出す光景は、内陸の湖の花火ならではの美しさです。標高800mを超える湖畔の夜気は澄み渡り、花火の色が鮮やかに映えます。山開きという特別な節目の夜を飾る約20分間の打ち上げは、富士山と河口湖の自然が揃って初めて成立する、山梨の夏を象徴する風物詩です。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は富士河口湖町の公式発表で事前に確認を。終了後は河口湖駅方面への道と駐車場が大変混み合います。フィナーレ後は湖畔でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから時間差で移動するか、河口湖駅からの富士急行線の帰りの時刻を事前に確認しておきましょう。足元が暗くなるため小さなライトがあると安心です。
Tips
From Oishi Park, approximately 15 minutes by route bus or car. Free parking available. On fireworks festival day, surrounding roads may become congested from the evening onward. Stock up on drinks and evening light meals during this time for peace of mind. If traveling by bus, confirm the Lake Kawaguchi Loop Bus schedule in advance.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. In the afternoon, the lake surface appears calm and Mt. Fuji's silhouette is beautifully visible.
