津山夏まつりのクライマックスを飾る塩手池花火大会の会場です。塩手池のほとりに広がるつつみの広場から、池の上空へ打ち上げられる約3,000発の花火を間近で楽しめます。池面に映る逆さ花火との共演は、池畔という立地ならではの見応えで、山に囲まれた盆地の夜空に広がる花火は音の響きも格別です。津山の夏を締めくくるこの花火大会は地元市民にも愛される風物詩で、会場には家族連れや浴衣姿の人々が集まり、夏祭りの活気に包まれます。レジャーシートを広げてゆっくり腰を落ち着け、1日の旅のフィナーレを花火で飾りましょう。

Tips
Approximately 5 minutes on foot from the east entrance of Tsuruyama Park. Viewing is free with no admission fee. Some streets have little shade, so remember to stay hydrated. There are displays and information boards under eaves and in alleyways—using these as guides enhances your appreciation of the history. Facilities within the district have varying opening hours, so check in advance if you wish to visit specific locations.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. The afternoon slanting sunlight softly illuminates the white walls, creating excellent photo opportunities.
