The Yoshii River (吉井川), flowing through the Saidaiji area, is the star of tonight's fireworks festival. Walking the riverbed during the day helps you picture where to stake out the best view for the evening fireworks. The riverbed's embankment is wide and open, with a river breeze that makes it relatively comfortable even in summer. Take a walk along the green embankment and check the direction the fireworks will launch from and the lay of the venue. The coolness by the water eases the fatigue of a midsummer afternoon.

Within walking distance of Saidaiji Station and Kannon-in. The sun is strong here, so bring a hat and something to drink. Checking the location and entrance of Yoshii River No. 1 Green Space Park (吉井川第一緑地公園) during the day will make claiming your spot in the evening go more smoothly.
