About this spot

A learning-and-exchange facility inside Saidaiji Ryokka Park (西大寺緑花公園), built on the former main site of the 2009 National Urban Greening Fair Okayama. With the theme of “see, touch, and experience” urban greening, nature conservation, environmental education, and food education, it houses a multipurpose hall, seminar rooms, and an arts and crafts room, along with a green library holding more than 80,000 general and children's books combined. The park also has playground equipment for kids and an open lawn plaza, making it a good place to pass the time until it cools down. Once you've caught your breath, pick up dinner and drinks around Saidaiji Station and head to the venue, Yoshii River No. 1 Green Space Park (吉井川第一緑地公園).

Tips

Use a supermarket or convenience store within walking distance of Saidaiji Station. On the day of the fireworks festival, trash cans may be crowded or unavailable, so bringing your own trash bag is reassuring. Heading to the venue around 6:00 p.m. makes it relatively easy to secure a good viewing spot.

About 1 hour 15 minutes. Finishing your meal in this window lets you wait for the fireworks at the venue at ease
