On Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, approximately 8,000 fireworks will be launched between Asahi Bridge and Asahi Grand Bridge on the Kitakami River riverbed. The fireworks blooming across the sky of Iwate and Hanamaki—the land Miyazawa Kenji called "Ihatov"—create a fantastical scene with the light reflected on the river's surface. The finale, with its powerful succession of starmines and large spheres filling the night sky accompanied by the river's resonant sound, becomes an experience imprinted on your body. Check the official information of the organizers on the day to confirm whether the event will be held in case of bad weather. After the finale, the roads and parking lots around the venue become extremely congested. It is recommended to enjoy the lingering atmosphere for a while after the finale, then move once the crowds have settled. Bring a small light as the ground is dark.
