松江水郷祭湖上花火大会は、宍道湖の湖上から打ち上げる約21,000発が夜空と湖面を同時に彩る、山陰最大規模の花火大会です。静かな湖の水面に映り込む「逆さ花火」は、海辺でも陸上でも味わえない湖上ならではの絶景。音が湖面と周囲の山々に反響する独特の響きも迫力満点で、花火が開くたびに観覧客の歓声が湖畔に広がります。フィナーレの連発では湖全体が光に包まれるような圧巻のスケール。松江城下の夜景をバックに水郷の空と水が花火の色に染まる45分間は、この1日のクライマックスにふさわしい、忘れられない光景です。

Tips

開催日は8月1日(土)・8月2日(日)の両日、各日20:15〜21:00。荒天時は中止または順延の場合があるため、当日の開催情報は松江水郷祭公式の発表で確認してください。終了後は宍道湖畔から松江駅方面への帰路が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後は湖畔で少し余韻を楽しんでから、時間差での帰宅が快適です。足元が暗い場所もあるため小さなライトを携帯すると安心。

Tips

From Matsue Station, take a bus or walk to the Shinji Lake shore. On fireworks festival day, spectators rapidly increase from evening onward, so ideally arrive at the lakeside by the 5 PM hour. Locate restrooms early and use them before the nighttime rush for peace of mind. The lakeside can be windy, so anchor your mat with luggage to prevent it from blowing away.
