This is Takehara's gateway where ferries to Osaki Kamijima and other islands depart, a port with calm Seto Inland Sea waters spread directly before it. Restaurants and shops surround the port area, making it an ideal place to procure dinner and fortify yourself while enjoying the evening sea breeze. It's also close to the fireworks launch venue at the J-POWER (Electric Power Development) ground offshore, and you can scout out viewing locations while checking the atmosphere of the venue area during the evening. As the sun lowers, the Seto Inland Sea becomes tinted with crimson, providing a good prelude to the fireworks.

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は竹原市または大会主催者の公式発表で当日確認を。終了後は観覧客が一斉に移動するため、JR竹原駅周辺が混雑します。花火終了後は少し時間をおいてから移動するか、乗車予定の電車の時刻を事前に確認しておくと安心です。足元は暗くなるため、スマホのライトを活用してください。

Tips

Approximately 10-15 minutes on foot from JR Takehara Station. On the day of the fireworks festival, the venue area begins to get crowded from evening, so purchase food and drinks early. Convenience stores and shops are expected to be crowded, so it's reassuring to stock up around the station beforehand. Also check the locations of restrooms during the daytime.
