Matsuyama Castle, standing atop Shiro-yama, is one of the "Twelve Surviving Tenshu" (existing castles with original Edo-period keeps) and is designated as a National Important Cultural Property. Taking the ropeway or lift up Shiro-yama, you'll be greeted by the Honmaru Plaza and the connected-style tenshu (castle tower). From the top floor of the tenshu, a panoramic view spreads across Matsuyama city streets, Dogo Plain, and even the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, with clear views of the Mitsuhama area where tonight's fireworks will launch. The contrast between Shiro-yama's greenery and stone walls is beautiful, making it a perfect spot for family photos.

Tips
会場の三津ふ頭へは伊予鉄道・三津駅または港山駅から徒歩でアクセスできます。花火大会当日は会場周辺の道路が通行規制になる場合があるため、事前に松山市や大会公式の案内を確認しましょう。荒天時の開催可否も公式発表で確認を。終了後は帰宅者が一斉に移動するため、電車の混雑が予想されます。フィナーレ後は少し時間をおいてから駅へ向かうと比較的スムーズです。足元が暗いので、帰り道はスマートフォンのライトで安全に移動しましょう。

About 5 minutes' walk from Iyo Railway's Okaido Station to the ropeway boarding area. The ropeway and lift share a common fare (approximately 700 yen round-trip for adults), with separate admission to the tenshu. Summer shade on Shiro-yama is pleasant, allowing comfortable walking while avoiding intense sunlight. The interior of the tenshu has steep stairs, so hold small children's hands during ascent. There are shops and restrooms near the ropeway boarding area.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Afternoon on a clear day offers the most vivid views of the Seto Inland Sea.
