These offshore fireworks are the finale of “Uwajima Ushioni Festival,” Uwajima's grand summer celebration. For 30 minutes, from 20:00 to 20:30 on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, fireworks launch one after another into the night sky over Uwajima Bay. The light of the fireworks reflecting on the calm surface of this sheltered bay is a beauty unique to offshore displays. Enjoy, along with the sound of the waves, the climax of a summer night where the local festival culture behind the Ushioni Festival's name meets the seascape of Nanyo.

Tips

Check Uwajima City's official information for whether the event will proceed in bad weather. Afterward, the bayside area and Uwajima Station get very crowded. It's a good idea to head to the station after the finale with a bit of a time gap rather than right away. Some areas get dark underfoot, so have your smartphone's flashlight ready.
