About this spot

The Nyugawa Fireworks Festival venue, “the road in front of Nyugawa Station (Asahi-shinkai)” (壬生川駅正面線（旭新開）), is the street running straight out from the front of JR Nyugawa Station on the Yosan Line. On the day, vehicle traffic is restricted from evening into the night, and the road itself becomes the viewing area. Food stalls line the surrounding area, building a summer festival mood even before the show starts. Get there early, spread out your picnic sheet, and get ready for the roughly 6,000-firework launch starting at 8:00 p.m.

Tips

A few minutes' walk from Nyugawa Station. Surrounding roads may be under traffic restrictions on the day of the festival, so check official announcements or local municipal information in advance. Restrooms near the venue can get long lines, so be sure to use one near the station before heading over. Spread your picnic sheet somewhere that doesn't block walkways, and be considerate of those around you.

About 55 minutes. Arriving 30–60 minutes before the show gives you plenty of time to secure a good spot
