From in front of Toyohashi Station extending to Hirokoji Street, the characteristic Toyohashi scenery unfolds where the Toyohashi Railway City Line streetcar runs. Along the boulevard where streetcars, automobiles, and pedestrians coexist, shops and restaurants line the street, providing a perfect place to enjoy the street-walking atmosphere while taking a break. On the day of the fireworks festival, crowds begin to increase in the station area from late afternoon, so it's reassuring to pick up light snacks or drinks for the evening at this time. Toyohashi curry udon, known as Toyohashi's soul food, and chikuwa (fish cake) from Toyohashi Yamasa are among the local specialties worth seeking out in local shops.

豊橋祇園祭花火大会は2026年7月18日(土)18時から21時まで、豊川河畔から約12,000発が打ち上げられる愛知県東部最大級の花火大会です。豊川の川幅を活かしたワイドスターマインや尺玉の大輪が次々と夜空を彩り、川面に映る逆さ花火の美しさも河畔観覧ならではの醍醐味。3時間にわたる長丁場の大会は、スターマインの連発からクライマックスのフィナーレまで、見応えのある演目が続きます。川沿いの土手から見上げる花火は周囲が開けていて遮るものがなく、全天に広がる花火の迫力を体全体で感じられます。祇園祭の祭りの雰囲気と合わさった夏の夜の豊橋は、忘れがたい思い出になるはずです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は豊橋市または豊橋祇園祭の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と豊橋駅周辺が大混雑します。21時のフィナーレ後は河畔で少し余韻を楽しんでから、混雑が落ち着いた頃合いを見計らって帰路につくのがおすすめ。JR豊橋駅・名鉄豊橋駅への道は事前に確認しておきましょう。足元が暗い場所もあるのでライトを携帯してください。

About 5 minutes by streetcar (Toyohashi Railway City Line) from Toyohashi City Hall to Toyohashi Station-mae stop. On the evening of the fireworks festival, crowds become heavy as commuters and spectators overlap, so complete your shopping early. Coin lockers are available inside Toyohashi Station, so you can travel light through the evening by storing your belongings.
