Since the Toyohashi Gion Festival fireworks are launched from the Toyokawa riverbank, food stalls line the area from late afternoon, enveloping the venue in festival excitement. As the 6 PM opening approaches, the embankments and riverbeds fill with spectators spreading out leisure sheets, so ideally you should secure a viewing spot around 4:30 PM. Once you've found your spot, have dinner with takoyaki, fried chicken, and boxed meals you've brought from the food stalls. The river breeze from the Toyokawa is refreshing, and the scenery of the river surface dyed in the sunset glow is also worth seeing. This is also a good time to do a final check of restrooms and belongings.

豊橋祇園祭花火大会は2026年7月18日(土)18時から21時まで、豊川河畔から約12,000発が打ち上げられる愛知県東部最大級の花火大会です。豊川の川幅を活かしたワイドスターマインや尺玉の大輪が次々と夜空を彩り、川面に映る逆さ花火の美しさも河畔観覧ならではの醍醐味。3時間にわたる長丁場の大会は、スターマインの連発からクライマックスのフィナーレまで、見応えのある演目が続きます。川沿いの土手から見上げる花火は周囲が開けていて遮るものがなく、全天に広がる花火の迫力を体全体で感じられます。祇園祭の祭りの雰囲気と合わさった夏の夜の豊橋は、忘れがたい思い出になるはずです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は豊橋市または豊橋祇園祭の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と豊橋駅周辺が大混雑します。21時のフィナーレ後は河畔で少し余韻を楽しんでから、混雑が落ち着いた頃合いを見計らって帰路につくのがおすすめ。JR豊橋駅・名鉄豊橋駅への道は事前に確認しておきましょう。足元が暗い場所もあるのでライトを携帯してください。

Right next to Toyohashi Park and Yoshida Castle ruins is the Toyokawa riverbank. If walking from the station area, the route through Toyohashi Park and out to the embankment is most convenient. Food stalls can have long wait times due to crowds, so it's reassuring to purchase drinks and light snacks in advance. Use public restrooms before the opening begins.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. Securing your spot 1.5 hours before opening allows you to settle in comfortably for dinner and wait for the show to begin.
