Banno Cape is a small cape jutting out along the coastline in the southern part of Kashiwazaki City, where the Banno-dō (Banno Hall), known as a sacred site of the Nichiren Buddhist sect, stands. From the cape's tip, the view of the Sea of Japan is expansive, and on clear days there is a sense of openness as the boundary between the blue sea and sky stretches endlessly. It's also worthwhile to stroll the walking paths around the cape while taking in views of the north coastline where this evening's fireworks will launch. By making use of shade from pine groves, you can enjoy nature comfortably even in midsummer. Refresh yourself with the sound of waves and the scent of sea salt before the fireworks.

ぎおん柏崎まつり海の大花火大会は、約16,000発を日本海の沖合から打ち上げる、全国屈指の規模を誇る花火大会です。開催日は2026年7月26日(日)、19時30分から21時10分まで約1時間40分にわたって繰り広げられます。海上スターマイン、尺玉の連発、大型割物と演目が次々と切り替わり、広大な海面が反射する光と、胸に響く轟音が一体となった圧倒的な迫力はほかでは味わえません。打ち上げ場所が沖合の海上であるため、煙に隠れにくく花火の全形が美しく見えるのも日本海の花火大会ならではの特長です。フィナーレの一斉打ち上げで夜空と海が一面に染まる瞬間は、この1日の記憶に深く刻まれる光景になるでしょう。

荒天・強風の場合は中止または延期になることがあります。開催可否は大会公式発表や柏崎市の情報を当日朝から確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と公共交通機関が大混雑します。柏崎駅方面への帰宅は終了直後を避け、海浜公園でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから移動するのがおすすめです。足元が暗くなるのでスマホのライトを活用しましょう。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Kashiwazaki Station, or by municipal bus heading toward Banno. Parking available. Some walking paths are unpaved, so please wear comfortable sneakers. You can also visit the Banno-dō shrine. Bring water for heat stroke prevention, and don't overdo it in the hot sun.
