About this spot
Godensanyama Youth Plaza, adjacent to Yonako Hama Park, is the other venue for the Yonabaru Otsunaiki Festival. From evening onward, food stalls line up with local flavors including Okinawa soba (そば), island vegetable dishes, and fried foods. As the sun sets, crowds increase and pre-tug-of-war performances and local events begin to bustle. Grab dinner at a food stall, spread out a leisure sheet, and enjoy a moment before the fireworks in the festival's atmosphere. The Yonabaru Otsunaiki Festival is also a traditional event where local residents participate en masse, so the tug-of-war cheers and costumes are worth seeing.

与那原大綱曳まつりは、琉球王朝時代から続く伝統の綱引き行事を現代に受け継ぐ、与那原町最大の夏祭りです。東西に分かれた綱引きの熱戦と、勇壮な演舞が祭り全体を盛り上げ、フィナーレには夜空を彩る花火が打ち上げられます。与那古浜公園と御殿山青少年広場を舞台に、地域の人々の熱気と夏の夜の海風が交わる特別な時間。花火は海辺の会場から打ち上がるため、海面に光が映える瞬間も楽しみのひとつです。琉球の伝統と夏の夜空が一体となるクライマックスを、ゆっくり味わいましょう。

開催時間の詳細は当日の大会公式アナウンスで確認してください。終了後は会場周辺の道路や駐車場が大変混雑するため、花火終了後はしばらく会場内や浜辺で余韻を楽しんでから移動するのがおすすめです。帰りの車のルートは複数確認しておくと安心です。
