Omifunako Nakahama Swimming Beach is a white sand lake shore on the western side of Lake Biwa, known for its crystal-clear water and beautiful scenery surrounded by pine trees. It is also the launch venue for tonight's Otsu Shiga Fireworks Festival, so it's recommended to scout out the beach during daytime hours and identify your preferred viewing location. The Hiei and Hira mountain ranges stretch across the opposite shore, allowing you to feel the immense scale of Japan's largest lake with your entire body. On the day of the fireworks festival, the number of spectators increases from late afternoon, so securing your spot at this time ensures peace of mind.

2026年7月23日(木)19時30分から20時10分まで、近江舞子中浜水泳場から打ち上げられる約2,000発の花火大会です。日本最大の湖・琵琶湖の広大な湖面を舞台に、スターマインや尺玉が次々と夜空に開きます。静かな湖面に映る逆さ花火の美しさは、内陸の湖ならではの絶景で、比良山系の山並みのシルエットと花火の光のコントラストは息をのむ迫力です。波音の代わりに湖面をわたる穏やかな風とともに、約40分間の光と音の競演を湖畔から楽しみましょう。夏の琵琶湖に刻まれる、家族の忘れられない夜の記憶になります。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で確認を。終了直後は近江舞子駅が大変混雑するため、フィナーレ後は湖畔で少し余韻を楽しんでから時間差での帰宅がおすすめ。帰りの湖西線の時刻は事前に調べておきましょう。足元が暗くなるためライトがあると安心です。

Tips

About 5-8 minutes on foot from JR Omifunako Station. The area gets crowded with swimmers during summer. Since there are convenience stores and small shops around the station, it's best to purchase dinner and drinks at this time. Always take any trash with you from the lake shore.
