On the festival day, the lakeside fills rapidly after 5 PM, so it's wise to combine dinner and place-securing in parallel during this time. 2026年8月6日(木)19時30分から20時30分にかけて、大津市・滋賀県営大津港沖の水面一帯から約10,000発が打ち上がるびわ湖大花火大会です。日本最大級の淡水湖である琵琶湖の広大な水面と夜空を舞台に、スターマインや大玉など多彩な仕掛けが次々と繰り広げられます。湖面に映る逆さ花火が連動して広がる光景は、海辺や陸上の花火大会では得られない独特の美しさです。周囲に遮るものがなく、空が広く開けた湖上からの打ち上げは、どこから見ても視界いっぱいに花火が広がります。フィナーレの連発で琵琶湖全体が光に包まれる瞬間は、1日のすべての時間がここに収束するクライマックスです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を確認してください。終了後は京阪びわ湖浜大津駅・JR大津駅周辺が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後はその場でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから移動すると、混雑を避けやすいです。帰りの電車の時刻は事前に確認しておき、混雑に備えて時間に余裕を持った計画を立てましょう。足元が暗い場所もあるのでライトを活用してください。

About 3 minutes on foot from Keihan Hama-Otsu Station. On the festival day, some surrounding roads are subject to traffic restrictions, making public transportation essential for movement. Food and drinks sell out quickly, so securing them early is strongly recommended. Restrooms will be congested, so use them early before and after dinner.
Best time to visit
Approximately 2 hours required. The changes in color of Lake Biwa's sky and water surface as it transitions from sunset to night are the highlight of this time period.
