2026年8月15日(土)開催の山鹿灯籠まつり納涼花火大会は、山鹿市街地・さくら湯周辺を会場に約4,000発の花火が打ち上がります。山鹿灯籠まつりは金灯籠を頭に載せた女性たちが踊る灯籠踊りで知られる熊本県を代表する夏まつりで、その納涼行事として長年親しまれてきた花火大会です。街なかから花火を見上げるスタイルのため、金灯籠の明かりと花火の光が同時に視界に入る山鹿ならではの風景が広がります。約4,000発の花火は市街地の夜空いっぱいに開き、フィナーレの連発は祭りの最高潮を飾るにふさわしい迫力です。

開催時間は未定のため、大会公式および山鹿市の発表を必ず直前に確認してください。荒天時の開催可否も同様に公式情報を参照してください。終了後は周辺道路と駐車場周辺が大変混雑します。時間に余裕がある場合は会場周辺で余韻を楽しんでから移動すると、混雑のピークを外せます。帰宅時は足元が暗い場所もあるため、スマートフォンのライトを活用してください。
Tips
A short walk from Sakura-yu. Admission is approximately 300 yen for adults (please confirm in advance as prices may vary). The museum interior is air-conditioned, making it ideal to visit during the hot daytime hours. Part of the exhibits may become special displays during the lantern festival period. Crowds are expected on the fireworks festival day, so visiting shortly after opening is relatively less crowded.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. Recommended to visit during daytime as a break, enjoying a leisurely tour of the cool interior.
