Sōyu (総湯), the public bath of Katayamazu Onsen, is a modern day-use hot spring facility standing on the shore of Shibayama Lagoon. The smooth, mineral-rich waters are also called "the beautiful lady's bath" (美人の湯), warming the body from the core. The building features large windows facing the lake, allowing you to enjoy the view of Shibayama Lagoon while bathing—the facility's greatest charm. A smart plan is to enter around 6 PM and refresh your body before heading to the viewing location, allowing plenty of time before the 9 PM fireworks start. Towels and amenities can be purchased or rented at the facility, so you can drop by empty-handed.

加賀温泉郷納涼花火まつり in 片山津温泉は、2026年8月1日(土)から8月30日(日)まで毎夜21時ごろから約10分間開催される、夏の夜の恒例行事です。打ち上げ場所は柴山潟の湖上で、静かな湖面が花火の光をそのまま映し出す「逆さ花火」が大きな見どころ。湖に浮かぶ浮御堂のシルエットと大輪の花火が重なる構図は、片山津温泉でしか出会えない絵画のような光景です。約200発という数はコンパクトながら、休みなく打ち上がる10分間は密度が高く見ごたえがあります。温泉街の旅館の灯りと湖面の反射が作り出す幻想的な空間で、加賀の夏の夜を存分に味わいましょう。

Tips

荒天時は中止または延期になる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は加賀市または片山津温泉観光協会の公式発表で確認を。花火終了後は湖畔周辺の駐車場や温泉街の道路が混み合うため、すぐに移動せず湖畔で余韻を楽しんでから帰路につくと渋滞を避けやすいです。翌日以降も毎夜開催されるため、悪天候の場合は翌日リベンジも検討を。

Tips

Within walking distance from the viewing area on the Shibayama Lagoon shore. Admission is around ¥500 for adults (fees may vary, so check the official website). On the day of the fireworks, the facility gets crowded with local and tourist visitors, so entering between 5-6 PM is recommended. After bathing, wipe off sweat thoroughly and wear a light jacket before heading to the lakeside.
