A large-scale urban park that Sagamihara City is proud of, spanning approximately 53 hectares with vast lawns, fountains, and wooded areas. The main fountain plaza is an open space where children can run freely, and becomes especially lively during the water play season. The Kanagawa Prefectural Sagamihara Park is adjacent to the grounds, offering many attractions including a French formal garden and the Sakata no Tane Green House. On the day of the fireworks festival, it's a perfect place to lay out a leisure sheet on the wide lawn and spend time leisurely, as there aren't many people. Conserve your energy and spirit for the nighttime fireworks.

相模原納涼花火大会は、相模川高田橋上流を会場に開催される相模原市の夏を締めくくる花火大会です。約8,000発のスターマインや大玉が広い川幅を利用して次々と打ち上げられ、対岸の丘まで含めた広大な空間が次々と彩られます。相模川の水面に映る花火の反射が美しく、川沿いならではの開放的な眺めが魅力。9月初旬の涼しくなりはじめた夜風の中で見る花火は、夏の終わりの感慨をひとしお深めてくれます。75分間のプログラムを川岸でゆっくり楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は相模原市の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と最寄り駅が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後はすぐに移動せず、河川敷でしばらく余韻を楽しんでから帰るのが混雑を避けるコツ。帰りの夜道は足元が暗い箇所があるので小さなライトがあると安心です。

Tips

About 15 minutes by bus from Odakyu Sagamigao Station (小田急相模大野駅), or about 20 minutes by bus from Hashimoto Station. There is a parking lot, but on the day of the fireworks festival, congestion is expected from late afternoon onward, so using public transportation is recommended. Checking the location of restrooms in the park during the day will be helpful at night. The park also has convenient facilities for a comfortable daytime visit.
