Kamimizo is one of the urban areas closest to Takada Bridge, the festival venue, and the Kamimizo Shopping Street running through its center is a lively street lined with locally-rooted shops. On the day of the fireworks festival, local residents also come for shopping, creating a unique festival-eve atmosphere. There are prepared food shops, convenience stores, drugstores, and other establishments, making it convenient for stocking up on drinks and food needed for fireworks viewing. If you've forgotten anything like insect repellent spray or portable toilets, you can replenish your supplies here. While experiencing the local atmosphere, you'll be prepared for the evening's main event.

Tips

A few minutes' walk from Sagami Railway Kamimizo Station (相模線・上溝駅). On the day of the fireworks festival, congestion increases from late afternoon onward, so it's recommended to finish shopping by 3:00-4:00 PM. It's about 10-15 minutes on foot from the shopping street to the Takada Bridge riverbed at the venue.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. In the bright time before evening, combine shopping with scouting the area.
