The Tsuruga Station area has become even more lively since the Hokuriku Shinkansen extension to Tsuruga in spring 2024. At the station building and surrounding commercial facilities, you'll find souvenirs and local specialties characteristic of Tsuruga, perfect for shopping before the fireworks. On the fireworks festival day, which coincides with Obon, the station area is filled with people in yukata and a festive atmosphere. Complete your snack and beverage shopping at convenience stores and kiosks during this time so that your evening viewing is lighter. If your luggage increases, depositing items in coin lockers will make the move to the pine grove easier.

Tips

Within a 0-5 minute walk from JR Tsuruga Station. On the fireworks festival day evening, foot traffic around the station increases, so it's recommended to complete your shopping before congestion becomes serious. Secure a coin locker early. Also check the schedules for final transport (buses and taxis) to Kehi Pine Grove using an app during this time.
