About this spot

A shrine dedicated to Shibata Katsutie (柴田勝家), a military commander who served Oda Nobunaga, and his wife Oichi (お市の方). It is built on the site of the Kitano-sho Castle (北ノ庄城), which Katsutie constructed. Although the grounds are modest in size, stone statues of Katsutie, Oichi, and the three sisters vividly convey the history of Fukui during the Sengoku Period. The stone wall ruins remaining on the grounds are also a highlight, and visiting this shrine together with Fukui Castle Ruins provides a more three-dimensional understanding of Hokuriku's Sengoku history. The quiet grounds, beloved by locals, maintain a serene atmosphere even on the busy fireworks festival day. The shrine office also offers stamp collection (御朱印), so families collecting shrine stamps should not miss this opportunity.

福井フェニックス花火は、2026年7月31日(金)19時30分から20時00分にかけて、福井市の足羽川河川敷・木田橋から板垣橋の間で開催される花火大会です。足羽川の川幅いっぱいに広がる夜空に打ち上がる花火は、川面に映る逆さ花火とともに楽しめる河川花火ならではの美しさがあります。桜並木で知られる足羽川沿いが、夏の夜は花火の光に照らされる特別な空間へと変わります。フィナーレに向けて連続して打ち上がる花火の光と音は、川辺の観覧だからこそ体全体で感じられる迫力です。夏の短い夜を惜しみながら、1日の締めくくりにふさわしい花火を楽しんでください。

Tips

開催可否は悪天候時に変更・中止になる場合があるため、当日は福井市または大会公式の発表を必ず確認してください。終了後は観覧客が一斉に動き出すため、周辺道路・駐車場は大変混雑します。公共交通機関を利用する場合はバスや電車の終電時刻を事前に確認し、余裕を持った計画を立てておきましょう。河川敷は終了後に足元が暗くなるため、小さなライトがあると安全です。

Tips

Approximately 5-minute walk from Fukui Castle Ruins. The grounds are free and open for public worship. If you wish to obtain a shrine stamp, check the office reception hours in advance before visiting. The grounds are not very large and can be fully explored in 30 to 40 minutes.
