About this spot

A sprawling park covering the Asuwayama area, approximately 117 meters in elevation, rising to the south of Fukui city center. It is a lush green haven that has long been cherished by local residents. From the observation platform near the summit, you can view the entire Fukui cityscape and confirm the flow of the Asuwa River, tonight's fireworks venue. Nationally known as a cherry blossom viewing spot in spring, the park offers cool shade in summer and features a lawn where children can run freely. The park also contains Asuwajinja Shrine (足羽神社), which enshrines Emperor Keitai, allowing visitors to simultaneously enjoy history and nature. The walking trails are well-maintained, making it an ideal spot to take an afternoon stroll and exercise before the fireworks begin.

福井フェニックス花火は、2026年7月31日(金)19時30分から20時00分にかけて、福井市の足羽川河川敷・木田橋から板垣橋の間で開催される花火大会です。足羽川の川幅いっぱいに広がる夜空に打ち上がる花火は、川面に映る逆さ花火とともに楽しめる河川花火ならではの美しさがあります。桜並木で知られる足羽川沿いが、夏の夜は花火の光に照らされる特別な空間へと変わります。フィナーレに向けて連続して打ち上がる花火の光と音は、川辺の観覧だからこそ体全体で感じられる迫力です。夏の短い夜を惜しみながら、1日の締めくくりにふさわしい花火を楽しんでください。

Tips

開催可否は悪天候時に変更・中止になる場合があるため、当日は福井市または大会公式の発表を必ず確認してください。終了後は観覧客が一斉に動き出すため、周辺道路・駐車場は大変混雑します。公共交通機関を利用する場合はバスや電車の終電時刻を事前に確認し、余裕を持った計画を立てておきましょう。河川敷は終了後に足元が暗くなるため、小さなライトがあると安全です。

Tips

Approximately 10 minutes by bus or car from Fukui Castle Ruins. The park has multiple walking trails and some steep slopes, so wear comfortable walking shoes. There is a vending machine at the summit area, but it's reassuring to start your climb with water in hand. The afternoon sun is intense in summer, so bring a hat and sunscreen.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 50 minutes required. It is recommended to view the cityscape and Asuwa River from the observation platform during the late afternoon when visibility is good.
