A shrine located at Kurume Castle Ruins (Shinoyama Castle Ruins), where traces of the Kurume domain's castle grounds as the seat of the Arima clan remain visible in the stone walls. From the shrine grounds at the elevated location, you can overlook the city and Chikugo River below, and the floodplain where tonight's fireworks festival will take place is visible from here as well. The quiet shrine area retains a cool atmosphere even on a hot summer afternoon, allowing for peaceful worship while sensing the weight of history. As the site of Kurume Castle's main compound, it's a spot that appeals to history enthusiasts from adults to children alike.

2026年8月5日(水)19時40分開始、筑後川の河川敷から打ち上がる約12,000発の花火が1時間にわたって夜空を飾ります。篠山会場・京町会場ほか計6会場が同時進行する大規模な大会で、各会場から異なるアングルで楽しめるのが筑後川花火大会の大きな特徴です。スターマイン、尺玉、仕掛け花火と多彩なプログラムが続き、筑後川の広い水面に映る逆さ花火の美しさも見逃せません。九州最大級規模のフィナーレは連続打ち上げが夜空を埋め尽くし、大きな川音と花火の轟音が体に響く迫力は、ほかの花火大会では味わえないスケールです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を当日確認してください。終了直後は帰宅客が一斉に動き出し、西鉄久留米駅・JR久留米駅周辺が大変混み合います。フィナーレ後しばらく河川敷で余韻を楽しんでから、時間差での帰宅がおすすめ。帰り道の河川敷は照明が少ない箇所があるため、スマートフォンのライトを活用して安全に移動しましょう。

Tips

Approximately 10 minutes on foot from Nishi-Tetsukurume Station, and also within walking distance from the Ishibashi Cultural Center. The shrine grounds are free to visit. Stone steps are present, so hold young children's hands when visiting. From the elevated views, check the location of tonight's fireworks viewing venue for smoother evening navigation.
