The shopping street spreading from Nishi-Tetsukurume Station is where daily shopping and dining converge in Kurume City. Kurume is known as one of the birthplaces of tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen, and the area around the station has several established local ramen shops. Many restaurants serving yakitori and other Kyushu regional specialties are located here, allowing you to experience the local yatai food stall culture firsthand. On the evening of the fireworks festival, dining establishments become quite crowded, so it's wise to finish your meal by the 4 PM hour. After eating, pick up drinks and light snacks at nearby convenience stores or shops for the venue.

2026年8月5日(水)19時40分開始、筑後川の河川敷から打ち上がる約12,000発の花火が1時間にわたって夜空を飾ります。篠山会場・京町会場ほか計6会場が同時進行する大規模な大会で、各会場から異なるアングルで楽しめるのが筑後川花火大会の大きな特徴です。スターマイン、尺玉、仕掛け花火と多彩なプログラムが続き、筑後川の広い水面に映る逆さ花火の美しさも見逃せません。九州最大級規模のフィナーレは連続打ち上げが夜空を埋め尽くし、大きな川音と花火の轟音が体に響く迫力は、ほかの花火大会では味わえないスケールです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を当日確認してください。終了直後は帰宅客が一斉に動き出し、西鉄久留米駅・JR久留米駅周辺が大変混み合います。フィナーレ後しばらく河川敷で余韻を楽しんでから、時間差での帰宅がおすすめ。帰り道の河川敷は照明が少ない箇所があるため、スマートフォンのライトを活用して安全に移動しましょう。

Immediately accessible on foot from Nishi-Tetsukurume Station. On the day of the fireworks festival, the area becomes congested from 5 PM onward, so aim to finish eating between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM. Securing a coin locker during the day allows you to store baggage and move about freely. From here to the Shinoyama venue on the Chikugo River floodplain is approximately 15–20 minutes on foot.
Best time to visit
Approximately 2 hours required. Finishing your meal by the early 4 PM hour before evening congestion begins is recommended.
