About this spot

This shopping district spreads across central Iizuka and is close to Nakanoshima on the Onga River (遠賀川中之島), the fireworks venue. It's lined with local restaurants and supermarkets, making it a convenient place to pick up dinner before watching the fireworks. In late September, evening temperatures settle down, making it a pleasant season for walking through town. On the day of the fireworks display, the crowds and bustle build from the evening onward. Finishing your meal while still close to the venue lets you use the time before staking out a spot with plenty of ease.

Tips

Within walking distance of the Nakanoshima venue on the Onga River. Restaurants get crowded on the evening of the fireworks, so arriving early or getting takeout saves time. Food stalls around the venue also start appearing in the evening, but popular stalls can sell out quickly. It's a good idea to stock up on drinks at this point.
