Nakano Island, located in the middle of the Onga River flowing through Iizuka City, is tonight's fireworks launch venue. The viewing areas along the riverbank begin securing spots early, so spreading your leisure sheet in the evening is key. In late September, the Onga River area has many insects, so use insect repellent while enjoying the cool riverside breeze. The wind drifting across the water is refreshing, and as the opposite bank's trees darken, anticipation for the fireworks builds. 飯塚納涼花火大会は、遠賀川中之島を打ち上げ場所とする筑豊地区を代表する花火大会です。約7,000発が1時間30分にわたって夜空を彩り、川沿いの観覧エリアからは花火が真上に近い角度で開く迫力が味わえます。川面に映り込む花火の光が揺れる様子は、川辺の花火大会ならではの見どころです。9月下旬という時期柄、夏の終わりから秋の入口への情緒が漂い、涼しくなった夜風の中で楽しむ花火はひとしお心に残ります。フィナーレの連続打ちで川と空が光で満たされる瞬間は、この1日のクライマックスです。
Tips
荒天時は中止または延期になる場合があるため、当日は飯塚市の公式発表で開催可否を確認してください。終了後は会場周辺の道路と駐車場が大変混み合います。公共交通機関を利用する場合はJR新飯塚駅が最寄りで、終了後は混雑するため時間差での移動が安心です。帰り道の川岸は暗いためスマホのライトや小型ライトを手元に用意しておきましょう。
