Next stop: Take a break watching the sunset at the Hibiki Sea coast with its white sand and rocky shoals before heading to the venueAbout this spot
This is one of Kitakyushu City's largest green-space parks, facing the Hibiki Sea, and is well equipped with family-friendly facilities including a vast lawn plaza, large play equipment, a shallow wading pool (open seasonally), and an animal petting corner. Located on the north side of Wakamatsu Ward with views over the Hibiki Sea, it's an ideal spot for children to move around freely in the comfortable autumn temperatures. Letting children play here plenty before viewing the fireworks often helps them stay calm during the evening viewing, making it an effective stop for a successful family fireworks outing.
Tips
About 15 minutes by car from Kotozan Park. Admission is around 200 yen for adults (check age categories at the entrance). The park is large, so it's efficient to focus on areas suited to your children's ages. Start heading to the fireworks venue early in the evening to give yourself plenty of time to secure a spot.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. The autumn afternoon breeze is pleasant, and simply relaxing on the lawn feels great
