Enjoy a panoramic view of Donkai Bay, Wakato Bridge, and Hibiki Nada from the mountain summit observatory
About this spot
This is a park developed on the summit of Takatoriyama at an altitude of 124 meters, conveniently located near the center of Wakamatsu Ward. From the observatory, you can look down on Donkai Bay and the Wakato Bridge from above, and on clear days, visibility extends to Hibiki Nada. It's the perfect vantage point to confirm the full view of Donkai Bay where tonight's fireworks will be launched during the day, and also helps you envision potential viewing locations. At the summit, there are walking paths and a grassy plaza with plenty of space for children to run around. Autumn is also the beginning of the foliage season, so you can enjoy the mountain's colors transitioning from green to red.

Venue:
Shells: approx. 4,500
Tips
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from the ferry terminal area, or you can take a bus from the Wakamatsu Station area. If walking up the hiking trail to the summit, wear comfortable shoes. The observatory is free to use, and restrooms are well-maintained. On windy days, the summit can be chilly, so don't forget a cardigan.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. In the clear autumn afternoon air, make sure to imprint the Donkai Bay scenery in your mind before the fireworks.
