Panoramic View of the Fukushima Basin and Abukuma River from the Observation Deck—Confirm Tonight's Venue During the Daytime

About this spot

Hakuro-yama, located at the northern tip of Shinobu Mountain, is a viewing spot offering a 360-degree panorama of Fukushima's streetscape. Although not particularly high in elevation, the view encompassing the Fukushima Basin where the Abukuma River flows, along with the Azuma and Adatara mountain ranges, is exceptional, and you can clearly make out the terrain along the river where tonight's fireworks will rise. Hakuro Shrine stands near the summit; after paying respects, proceeding to the observation deck allows you to enjoy the area in a more compact way. In summer, the mountain's shade is refreshing, and the air feels several degrees cooler than in the city below, easing your body. On the day of the fireworks festival, this spot is perfect for getting a geographical sense of the venue beforehand to prepare for the nighttime crowds.

Tips
