Located on the slopes of Mt. Shinobuyama, Fukushima Gokoku Shrine is a prestigious shrine visited by worshippers from both inside and outside the prefecture. Wrapped in deep greenery, its grounds soften the summer sunlight, and simply walking the gravel approach calms the mind. After putting your hands together at the main hall to pray for the day's safety, take a rest in the shade of the grounds. It can be reached on foot along a walking path from Haguroyama Park, connecting smoothly into the afternoon route as you cross Mt. Shinobuyama. Since the fireworks festival night runs long, this is a moment to treasure the quiet of the daytime.

Tips

About a 15-minute walk from Haguroyama Park along the walking path. Visiting the grounds is free. The shrine office accepts requests for a goshuin (shrine stamp). The walking path on Mt. Shinobuyama is well maintained, but comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
