About this spot

This is a park and tourist facility spreading along the Abukuma River in Nihonmatsu City, where the old Tohoku folk legend of the Onibaba (demon hag) of Adachigahara remains. With spacious green areas and walking paths in place, it's well suited for a relaxed family stroll. Along the Abukuma River in summer, the river breeze feels pleasant, and the appeal lies in being able to walk while cooling off in the tree shade. While touching on the region's traditional culture, you can also get a feel in daylight for the atmosphere of the Abukuma River where tonight's fireworks festival will be held. It's a representative spot of the Motomiya-Nihonmatsu area where you can casually enjoy both history and nature.

Tips

About 5 minutes by car from JR Nihonmatsu Station, and about 5 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Adachi. Admission is free. The grounds are spacious, so wear shoes suited for walking. Summer sunlight is strong, so prepare a hat and sunscreen. It's about 20 minutes by car to the next stop, Mizuiro Park.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes. The afternoon tree shade is cool, making it a pleasant time for a riverside stroll
