The downtown area centered around the front of Noshiro Station gathers local diners, deli shops, and supermarkets convenient for getting dinner. On the day of the fireworks festival, shops around the venue get crowded, so it's a wise choice to finish dinner early near the station. Eateries serving Akita specialties like kiritanpo and Hinai-jidori chicken dishes are also scattered around, letting you enjoy Noshiro's food as a finishing touch. In this area, where the Sea of Japan spreads out in the direction of the setting sun, spend a relaxed moment before the fireworks.

Tips

About 25 minutes by car from the roadside station. Convenience stores near the station may sell out of drinks and food in the evening on the day of the fireworks festival, so pick up supplies early. The Shimohama Wharf special venue is about 10-15 minutes by car from in front of Noshiro Station. After dinner, use the restroom before heading to the venue.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 30 minutes. Finishing your meal in the 5 p.m. hour lets you move to the venue with time to spare
