About this spot

Shimohama Wharf at Noshiro Port is the special venue for the Minato Matsuri Noshiro Fireworks. Since it's located right next to the launch site, you can look up at the fireworks head-on with tremendous impact. In the time before the show begins, the sun setting into the Sea of Japan dyes the wharf red, spreading a beautiful sunset view unique to a port. Once you've secured a viewing spot, wait for the show while slowly taking in this sunset. Food stalls are also set up around the area, letting you pick up light snacks and drinks. The wharf's sea scent and evening breeze create a special time before the fireworks festival.

Tips

Traffic restrictions may be in place around the venue from the evening on the day of the fireworks festival. Accessing by public transportation realistically means using a taxi or shuttle bus from Noshiro Station. If arriving by car, secure a nearby parking spot early before it fills up. As a guide, secure your spot 1-2 hours before the show begins.

About 40 minutes. Take your time securing a spot while enjoying the pre-show sunset view and the port atmosphere
