About this spot

Tatebayashi Castle Yume Hiroba (館林城ゆめひろば), tonight's fireworks festival venue itself, is a plaza built on the ruins of Tatebayashi Castle, which stood here during the Edo period. The wide lawn and the view of Shiro-numa Pond (城沼) are pleasant, and traces of the stone walls and earthworks convey the history of the castle town of Tatebayashi to this day. Walking around the venue during the day lets you get a sense of good viewing spots for the evening, giving peace of mind. From spots overlooking Shiro-numa Pond, you can take in Tatebayashi's water-and-greenery scenery together with Tsutsujigaoka Park (つつじが岡公園) on the opposite shore. The contrast between the quiet of the castle ruins by day and the lively bustle at night is also part of the fun of this spot.

Tips

Within walking distance of Tsutsujigaoka Park (つつじが岡公園). On the day of the fireworks festival, some areas may become restricted from the evening onward, so it's recommended to check out the atmosphere of candidate viewing spots during the day. Some areas have little shade, so bring a parasol or hat.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Take your time gazing at the greenery of the castle ruins and the surface of Shiro-numa Pond in the daylight.
