Local Seafood Gourmet and Street Food for a Pre-Fireworks Meal
About this spot
A shopping street near Oarai Harbor lined with shops selling local seafood products such as dried fish, salted seafood, and mentaiko (fish roe). You'll also find processed items using ankou (monkfish), Oarai's specialty, and shops where you can grill and eat local seafood on the spot. On the festival evening, the street bustles with local and visiting crowds, but at this hour you can still enjoy street food relatively calmly. Having a quick meal here before moving to Sunbeach allows you to enjoy the fireworks viewing more freely. Don't forget to pick up souvenirs.

Shops are scattered within a 5 to 10-minute walk from Oarai Station. After early evening on the festival day, the area becomes crowded with sold-out items occurring quickly, so complete your street food sampling and shopping by 4 to 5 p.m. From here, head to Oarai Sunbeach on foot or by car.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. The time just before evening sees less congestion, allowing you to leisurely browse the shops.
