About this spot

A gallery on the second floor of Oarai Seaside Station (大洗シーサイドステーション), built beside Oarai Port (大洗港), displaying merchandise from the anime 《Girls und Panzer》 alongside exhibits tracing the history between Oarai and the series. The first floor of the same building houses Oarai Maiwai Market (大洗まいわい市場), which sells seafood, local vegetables, and Ibaraki souvenirs, along with several eateries. Even on the evening of the fireworks festival, you can calmly eat and shop for souvenirs indoors here, then head to Sun Beach (サンビーチ) for the show traveling light.

Tips

Shops are scattered within about a 5-10 minute walk of Oarai Station (大洗駅). On the evening of the fireworks festival it gets crowded and items sell out quickly, so finish your food and shopping between 4 and 5 pm. From here, travel to Oarai Sun Beach (大洗サンビーチ) on foot or by car.

Best time to visit

About 1.5 hours needed. Before evening there's less congestion, so you can browse the shops at a relaxed pace
