The Shomei River (本明川), flowing through the center of Isahaya City, is the main venue for the Mantoro Kawa Matsuri (万灯川まつり) fireworks festival. A promenade is developed along the riverbank and is used as a walking path for residents during the day. By walking and confirming the fireworks launch location and viewing areas during the afternoon, you can navigate confidently without hesitation even during the evening crowds. The riverside promenade with river breeze is relatively cool even in summer, and views from bridges are excellent, so enjoy the festival atmosphere while strolling leisurely. If food stalls are being set up, note their locations to move smoothly in the evening.

Tips
荒天時の開催可否は諫早市または大会公式の発表で確認してください。終了後は本明川周辺から諫早駅方面への道が大変混み合います。花火終了後はすぐに移動せず、しばらく川沿いで余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰宅するのがおすすめです。帰路の駐車場や公共交通機関の時刻は事前に確認しておきましょう。
Tips
About 10 minutes on foot from Isahaya Park to reach the riverside. On the fireworks festival day, traffic restrictions are in place in certain areas from evening onward; it's safer to park your car in a parking lot during the afternoon and move on foot. Also confirm the location of public restrooms along the river at this time.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. Understanding the terrain of the viewing area in daylight will be helpful at night.
