Located about 30 minutes by car from Isahaya City at the gateway to the Shimabara Peninsula, this roadside station features an excellent direct-sales corner with Nagasaki specialties and fresh vegetables and seafood from the Shimabara Peninsula. Local specialty soft-serve ice cream and light snacks are also available. The facility name "Himawari" is associated with the history of the region. The outdoor area displays structures damaged during natural events, providing a place to reflect on the power of nature. Stop by during a drive break to experience Nagasaki's food and history.

諫早万灯川まつりは毎年夏に本明川一帯で開催される諫早市の夏の風物詩で、約2,500発の花火が夜空を彩ります。川の上から打ち上がる花火は川沿いから正面に大きく見え、川面に映る光の揺らめきが夜の水辺の情景を一層引き立てます。打ち上がるたびに響く音が市街地に木霊し、祭りの熱気と夏の夜の空気が混ざり合う時間は格別です。フィナーレに向けて連発が続くクライマックスは、この1日の旅を締めくくるにふさわしい迫力があります。昼に下見をしておいた観覧ポイントから、川とともに花火を楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は諫早市または大会公式の発表で確認してください。終了後は本明川周辺から諫早駅方面への道が大変混み合います。花火終了後はすぐに移動せず、しばらく川沿いで余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰宅するのがおすすめです。帰路の駐車場や公共交通機関の時刻は事前に確認しておきましょう。

Considering potential traffic congestion on the return journey on the fireworks festival day, stopping here allows you to return to Isahaya City with peace of mind. Local vegetables and souvenirs purchased at the direct-sales corner should be stored in your car trunk. Don't forget to take cooling measures for items purchased since you'll be returning late.
