A park spreading across a small hill overlooking Isahaya City, with the relocated Megane Bridge (眼鏡橋), a stone double-arch structure designated as a nationally important cultural property, preserved within its grounds. Built in 1839, this bridge is known as one of the most historically significant stone bridges in Nagasaki Prefecture, and the view of the park's greenery from the bridge makes it an excellent photo spot. From the hilltop, you can overlook Isahaya City and the direction of the Shomei River (本明川), making this an ideal location to identify tonight's fireworks venue location during daytime. Famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot, the summer season also offers comfortable shade. A small zoo is also adjacent to the park, making it an enjoyable spot for families with young children.

諫早万灯川まつりは毎年夏に本明川一帯で開催される諫早市の夏の風物詩で、約2,500発の花火が夜空を彩ります。川の上から打ち上がる花火は川沿いから正面に大きく見え、川面に映る光の揺らめきが夜の水辺の情景を一層引き立てます。打ち上がるたびに響く音が市街地に木霊し、祭りの熱気と夏の夜の空気が混ざり合う時間は格別です。フィナーレに向けて連発が続くクライマックスは、この1日の旅を締めくくるにふさわしい迫力があります。昼に下見をしておいた観覧ポイントから、川とともに花火を楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は諫早市または大会公式の発表で確認してください。終了後は本明川周辺から諫早駅方面への道が大変混み合います。花火終了後はすぐに移動せず、しばらく川沿いで余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰宅するのがおすすめです。帰路の駐車場や公共交通機関の時刻は事前に確認しておきましょう。

Tips

Approximately 15 minutes on foot from JR Isahaya Station (諫早駅), or about 5 minutes by car. Admission is free. Parking available (fee required). The park has elevation changes, so wear comfortable walking shoes. There are benches near the adjacent Isahaya Municipal Library for convenient rest breaks.
