The town area centered on JR Isahaya Station has many restaurants serving distinctly Nagasaki dishes, such as Nagasaki champon, sara udon, and set meals featuring local fish. On the night of the fireworks, the food stalls around the venue get lively too, but if you want to eat at leisure, it is best to have your meal finished in the 5 pm hour before the crowds arrive. Since the viewing area along the Honmyo River is within walking distance of the station, you can move there comfortably with your belongings after eating. Fuel up well here ahead of the night of the Manto Kawa Matsuri.

Tips

Convenience stores and large retailers around Isahaya Station tend to sell out of drinks by the evening on the day of the fireworks, so it is reassuring to buy beverages and snacks at this time. If you have come by car, either move it to a pay-by-the-hour parking lot near the station, or, anticipating the congestion after the fireworks end, check in advance a walking route from a parking lot on the outskirts of town.
