This is the central shopping street area of Omura City, located along the path heading toward Omura Station from Omura Park. This arcade street is used daily by local residents and is lined with Japanese confectionery shops, souvenir shops, and dining establishments—a perfect place to stop by leisurely during your sightseeing. You can find Omura's signature souvenirs such as "Omura-zushi" (Omura sushi) and "Hyokaramochi" cakes—souvenirs uniquely Nagasaki—in this area. Since congestion is expected from evening onward on the fireworks festival day, it's wise to complete souvenir purchases during this time. The shade of the arcade is also a pleasant place to cool off during the hot midday hours.

おおむら夏越花火大会は、大村湾の水上に浮かぶボートレース大村沖の台船から打ち上げられる、長崎県を代表する夏の花火大会です。約5,000発の花火が大村湾の夜空に次々と開き、穏やかな湾の水面には大輪の光が映り込んで、空と海の両方で花火を楽しめる絶景が広がります。21時30分ごろの打ち上げ開始を告げる轟音が湾に響いたら、いよいよクライマックスです。大村湾を囲む山々に音が反響する迫力は、海辺ならではの大スケール。フィナーレの連続打ちで夜空が一面の光に包まれる瞬間は、この1日の最高の締めくくりです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大村市や大会公式の発表を事前に確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と大村駅が大変混雑するため、花火終了後はしばらく水辺で余韻を楽しんでから時間差で移動するのがおすすめです。帰り道は足元が暗い場所もあるため、小さなライトがあると安心です。

A 10-minute walk from Omura Park. Souvenirs purchased can be left at coin lockers at Omura Station, allowing you to move freely until evening. Some shops may close early on the festival day, so it's safer to complete shopping before 5 PM.
