Local restaurants gather around Omura Station, offering Nagasaki-style menus such as dishes using Nagasaki beef, Nagasaki champon, and sara udon. Since the area around the venue gets very crowded at night on the day of the festival, it's recommended to have an early dinner around 5 p.m. After taking your time to eat and recover your energy, get ready to head to the area around Boat Race Omura, the venue. This is also your last chance to stock up on drinks or snacks around the station. After dinner, use the restroom too, and head to the viewing spot unencumbered.

Tips

Omura Station is a major station on the JR Omura Line, about a 15-20 minute walk from Boat Race Omura, the venue. Restaurants also get crowded on the day of the festival, so it's reassuring to make a reservation in advance if a restaurant offers one. Also pick up drinks and snacks from a convenience store in this area.

About 1 hour 30 minutes. This is the time to comfortably finish your meal well before the fireworks start.
