This is an ancient temple with over 1,400 years of history and is both a symbol of Nagano City and one of Japan's foremost temples. The main hall, which has been beloved by people nationwide since the Edo period with the saying "Even if far, visit Zenko-ji once," is a magnificent thatched-roof building designated as a National Treasure, and you can enter to pay your respects. The "Okaidanmeguri" (inner sanctum passage) set up underground in the main hall's inner sanctum is a popular experience where visitors walk through complete darkness and touch a lock to create a connection with Buddha. November is a beautiful season at the temple grounds when ginkgo trees turn golden, and the approach from the gate to the main hall presents a lovely landscape in the crisp autumn air. During this period of the Ebisu Lecture grand festival, the entire grounds are imbued with a special atmosphere.

長野えびす講煙火大会は、商売繁盛を祈る「えびす講」の大祭に合わせて長野市で開催される、江戸時代以来の歴史を持つ花火大会です。2026年11月23日(月・祝)18時から19時30分まで、長野大橋西側の犀川第2緑地を会場に、約10,000発が打ち上げられます。晩秋の澄んだ夜空に開く大輪の花火は、夏の花火大会とは一線を画す凛とした美しさがあり、冷気の中で見上げる光と音の迫力は格別です。川面に映る花火の光が揺らめく様子も、犀川ならではの見どころです。全国でも珍しい「冬の花火大会」として多くの花火ファンに知られ、長野市最大級の祭りのフィナーレにふさわしい華やかさです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を確認してください。終了後は周辺道路と長野駅方面への帰路が大変混み合います。花火終了後しばらく会場周辺で余韻を楽しんでから時間差で移動するか、事前に帰りの交通手段を確認しておきましょう。11月の長野市の夜は非常に冷えるため、防寒装備は万全に。

Tips

Just a short walk from Nakamise-dori. Entrance to the grounds is free, but inner sanctum worship and the Okaidanmeguri passage are fee-based (approximately 500 yen per adult; fees subject to change). For the Okaidanmeguri, since you walk in darkness, hold small children's hands firmly. The grounds are extensive, so wear comfortable shoes with stable footing.
