Dodogawa Riverside Park is itself the venue for tonight's Suzaka City Cool Summer Fireworks Festival. Food stalls line the riverside green space from the evening onward, and the buzz of excitement builds gradually before the fireworks begin. Once you have secured a viewing spot with a picnic sheet while it is still light, enjoy dinner from the food stalls and wait for the show at your leisure. The soothing sound of the river and the summer evening breeze, along with the sky's ever-changing colors, are among the pleasures unique to this venue. Getting a sense of the restroom locations and the venue's atmosphere early on will help you feel at ease once night falls.

Tips

On the day of the fireworks, viewing spots fill up from the evening onward, so it is safest to arrive by 5:00 to 5:30 pm. Buy your food and drinks from the stalls before the show starts, as it gets crowded afterward. Check the locations of restrooms, including temporary ones set up within the park, in advance. The road back to Nagano Dentetsu Suzaka Station becomes congested, so leave yourself plenty of time.
