The Hirosaki Tourism Bureau (弘前市立観光館), located just near Hirosaki Park, is a facility that disseminates information about Tsugaru's history, culture, and tourism. Inside, you can freely view exhibits on Hirosaki's festivals, crafts, and apple culture—perfect for deepening your knowledge as a traveler. The surrounding area features Western architecture built during the Meiji and Taisho periods, including the former Hirosaki Municipal Library and other buildings designated as National Important Cultural Properties. Walking through this area lets you experience firsthand why Hirosaki is called both the "Michoku's little Kyoto" and the "treasure house of Western architecture."
Tips
Just a short walk from the east gate of Hirosaki Park. The restrooms and rest areas inside the tourism bureau are free to use, making it ideal for a short break before afternoon walks. Most of the surrounding Western architecture can be viewed from the exterior. It's convenient to collect sightseeing pamphlets here as well.
Best time to visit
Takes approximately 45 minutes. After your park stroll, it's a good time to cool off and view exhibits at a relaxed pace.
