Hirosaki Park (弘前公園) is a large public park centered on Hirosaki Castle Site (弘前城址), beloved by both locals and visitors. The existing castle keep is known as Japan's northernmost and is designated as a National Important Cultural Property. Ascending the keep reveals a magnificent vista of the Tsugaru Plain and Mount Iwaki, and you can also see the Iwaki River area where tonight's fireworks will be launched. In early summer, the park's fresh greenery is beautiful, with pleasant walking paths where greenery reflects off the moat's water. Also renowned as Japan's premier cherry blossom viewing spot, this season allows you to experience a quiet, serene atmosphere different from spring.

古都ひろさき花火の集いは、弘前市の岩木川河川敷運動公園(悪戸地区)を会場に開催される花火大会で、2026年6月20日(土)19時45分から21時まで、約10,000発が打ち上げられます。広い河川敷からは遮るものなく大きな花火が楽しめ、晴れた日には岩木山のシルエットを遠景に花火が開く津軽らしい風景が広がります。6月下旬の北国の夜は比較的涼しく、夏の喧騒とは異なる落ち着いた雰囲気の中で花火を楽しめるのがこの大会の魅力です。川面に映る光の揺らぎとともに、津軽の初夏の夜を締めくくる約10,000発のクライマックスを存分に味わいましょう。

Tips

会場周辺の駐車場は早めに満車になるため、公共交通機関や臨時シャトルバスの運行情報を弘前市の公式発表で事前に確認を。荒天時の開催可否も同様に公式情報で確認してください。終了後は混雑が予想されるため、フィナーレ後しばらく河川敷で余韻を楽しんでから移動すると楽です。帰り道は足元が暗いのでライトを持参しましょう。

Tips

From Hirosaki Station to Hirosaki Park is about 20 minutes on foot, or about 10 minutes by Konan Bus (弘南バス). The entrance fee to the keep is 320 yen for adults. The park is vast, so wear comfortable walking shoes. There are many shops and benches, and you can have lunch within the park. On the day of the fireworks, parking lots around the park fill up quickly, so using public transportation is recommended.
