Commercial facilities and an arcade shopping street cluster around the north and south exits of Shizuoka Station (静岡駅), offering a wide selection of Shizuoka specialties such as Shizuoka tea, Abekawa mochi, and wasabi products. On the day of the fireworks festival, take your time choosing souvenirs in the early afternoon before the crowds gather, then store them in a station coin locker to move around freely later that night. Takeout shops serving Shizuoka oden and long-established Japanese sweets shops are also scattered around the station, so it's fun to stroll while snacking a little. It's also a convenient last rest stop before heading to the fireworks venue.

Tips

About 15 minutes on foot or by bus from Sengen Shrine (浅間神社); within walking distance of Shizuoka Station (静岡駅). Store large bags in a coin locker and carry only what you need for viewing the fireworks to make things easier. The restrooms inside the station and the commercial facilities are clean and convenient, so use one here.
